July Dollfie Dream Meet

Hey guys!

I recently attended the local Dollfie Dream meet with Tai and Shiera. The theme was "default day" and Tai initially came nude so I just kept her in her shorts and t-shirt lol. The dolls seemed to have a good time and I took lots of photos! I shall post them after this post.

In other good news, Reily (Dollzone Cherry) might be here earlier then expected! Apparently Dollzone issued a statement about all the March and April orders being shipped before August 1st. If this is true then Hurray! I thought I wouldn't be seeing Reily until end of September! Tai is certainly pleased and can't wait to see her BBF :)

Until next time!

Sassy Set (Tai and Shiera)

Hello all!

I dusted off my canon camera after a long time of leaving it on the shelve. It took some alright shots but most of them when you zoom it are pretty blurry which stinks! I need to invest in something more up to date so I can get some decent pictures.. Too bad my credit card hates me *sighs* Well at least I paid off my Dollzone Cherry layaway, I assume I'll be seeing her mid September due to the order back up.

I finally finished part of Shiera's assassin outfit so I threw a couple of those pictures in as well!

Well let's enjoy these photos for a few days!

Tai's new look

Hellu!

Continuing on from last post, Tai has been thought  a lot of changes. She went from normal skin, spray painted tan (several times), sanded, repainted and then paint removed! I began experimenting with her gyaru look and this is what I got so far:

(The new Tai)

I did a few more mods to her eye holes such as bevelling the inner edges so the eyes fit better and weren't so sunk in. Instead of using all back acrylic paint for the eye liner I used mostly black chalk pastel which I found went on better. It also allowed me to paint the inner edges so I can't see the pale inner eye edge. I felt her look was a bit lacking and added eyelashes. No gyaru is complete without them!

(Tai with eye lashes)

They're pretty long so I might cut them down a bit more but overall I'm happy with the look. I just wish I could figure out a permanent tanning method! I think she look close enough to the picture I referenced last post. Now she needs some more stylish clothes!

Doll Paint Adventure 2

Hellu!

So as you all know, Tai (my Dollfie Dream) was spray painted to be tan skin. I used Tamiya spray paint in tan colour and I was really pleased with the colour. Unfortunately I didn't let the primer and main coat dry long enough so the paint ended up sticky and Tai ended up with the nickname "Sticky"

(Tai's sticky body)

After visiting a hobby shop for counsel, one of the paint experts told me that she could be saved and that I would have to sand the sticky parts off, reprime and paint the body. I got the needed supplies and finished the procedure but looking at the time from then until Doll north (it was about 4 weeks away) I knew the body would not be dry on time.

Tai held up at Doll North for the most part but she got a few marks and her clothes started sticking again. I knew that her paint job would need to be repaired so I let it slide. After the convention I was going to repair her but I got busy as usual so the poor thing was sitting there for a while. After I got Shiera (Iplehouse Cocori) and the rit dye process went well, I wondered if I could do the same with Tai. I recalled seeing someone who dyed their Dollfie Dream and it seemed to work. I'm also getting interested in this VHT vinyl dye that I have been reading about so I'm not sure which route to take..
Either way I thought I'd see if I could get Tai's multi-layered body completely paint free. For anyone wondering, it works! All I needed was some Windsor and Newton brush cleaner (not much) , a few spoonges and some time. She is completely cleaned and normal skin again. I was sad to wipe her face, especially since it was the only part to completely dry..

My future plans for Tai involve her bring tan again and I'd like to continue her character development into a gyaru (either B-Gal or Bibinba). So far she has her wig and a few gold accessories. I'd like her face up to look something like this minus the piercings:

(Tai's possible new look)

Not sure how long Tai will stay normal skin since my work schedule is crazy and Michael's arts and crafts is a couple hours away from home.
Until next time!
